What can we look forward to in the new year? We must recognize that we are truly engaged in a planetary turning point. In the same way that it’s hard to see the forest when you are lost among all the trees, it’s hard to see humanity’s evolution when we are surrounded by so many crises. The confusion may lie in the fact that this is one of those rare cases where the “bad news” is actually the “good news.”
Crises in healthcare, the financial realm, climate change, and in the failure of our social support systems, collectively portray a world in upheaval. The myriad of problems are all connected to one overall problem: the beliefs that shape our cultures are clearly not sustainable. A most important insight at this moment is to recognize that we already possess the solutions to all our global ills.
If we have the solutions, why then are we so caught-up in all this trauma? It’s simply a consequence of human biology.
Crises perpetuate fear, which behaviorally, is like putting out a fire with gasoline. As discussed in The Biology of Belief, there are three consequences of a protection response. In the face of fear, we shut down the systems that maintain the body and simultaneously inhibit the immune system. Simply, chronic fear leads to disease and death. Fact, up to 90% of doctor visits are directly caused by stress.
As importantly, the chemistry of fear shuts down creative conscious thinking as the nervous system defaults to the faster, reactive programs of the subconscious mind. When faced with fear, rather than seeking creative solutions, we automatically take a “duck and cover” posture while we wait for the “all clear” signal. A sign that everything has returned to normal.
However, what would happen if things did not “return to normal?” There are two fundamental scenarios: We stay protracted in our protective posture … and die. Or, better, we step outside of the fear and using our creative consciousness, manifest a new civilization by rewriting our cultural beliefs.
Margaret’s and my participation at the recent UPLIFT Festival in Australia revealed that, under the radar, a new “thrivable” culture is being born outside of the conventional world. The numbers of global participants in this movement are reaching a critical threshold wherein a new model for life will transform the world in what will seem to be a Spontaneous Evolution.
We are approaching a time when we must make a conscious decision, to either stay in our self-imposed “bomb shelters,” or to step outside the box and breathe fresh air again! We at Mountain of Love Productions hope that the coming year offers opportunities for each of us to free ourselves from restrictive beliefs and become self-empowered to manifest our own personal Honeymoon Effect and experience Heaven-on-Earth.
